7. Av längtan till dig (In longing for you)

Introduction:

 

“Av längtan till dig” is a song with music by Janne Krantz and lyrics by Åsa Jinder, and recorded by Åsa Jinder and CajsaStina Åkerström, released as a single in 2001. The song charted at Svensktoppen (Swedish hits top list) for totally 25 weeks from June 9th before leaving chart, of which 12 weeks on the first position, which made it the most successful Svensktoppen song of 2001.

In essence, this was the most popular Swedish song at the time September 11, 2001 when I moved from Stockholm to San Diego, California. It was also the first song we, Dear Home Duet, performed during our first wedding engagement at the Norwegian Seamen’s Church in San Francisco 2013. It comes first circle, as it will also be the first song Johanna sings after moving back home to Stockholm in June 2015: at the wedding of Marie and Ulf.

Marie, the Swedish friend from San Diego and neighbor in San Francisco, who after driving together and singing all the way from San Diego to San Francisco when Johanna moved there 2007 requested her to “please, start singing in church”. This is for you, Marie and Ulf –  and for everyone else, to also meet the most beautiful person you have ever met. /Johanna
