Båtlåt (Boatsong). One of Johanna’s favorite songs as long as she can remember. In memory of Robert Broberg, the composer and singer, we are sharing the performance of his song from our “debut and farewell” concert in San Francisco at Jazz in the Basement.

RIP Robert Broberg. Thank you for all music and laughter. With love.

Here is the audio version from our debut concert sharing the material from “A Red Thread of Destiny” at Jazz in the Basement in San Francisco, May 29, 2015.

And by the way – did you know that SoundCloud is a Swedish online audio distribution platform?

We decided to have a session in a studio, to record some of the music we have collaborated doing the last couple of years. “It always help to have a demo recording in order to get a gig”, was the thinking. We didn’t know at the time of booking the session, that Johanna would decide to move back to Sweden shortly after, which made the recording more meaningful.

Two hours studio time. Grant is a pro. First time solo for Johanna. David Austin at Diamond Studio Audio Productions in San Francisco were solid.

Singer and pianist separated. No eye contact. One full retake, and the rest firs take. It was fun! What became “A Red Thread of Destiny” was created.

We can warmly recommend Diamond Studio Audio Productions for the recording of your music. He makes it both easy, affordable and fun.

As the quote states on the wall in the studio: “Happy are those who dream dreams, and are ready to pay the price to make them come true.”
